A 74-year-old Lexington man has died after being hit by a sport-utility vehicle as he tried to cross a street outside a crosswalk. The Fayette County coroner’s office says Eugene Childress was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Medical Center at 7:31 a.m. EDT Wednesday.
